SGSA offer Boardroom Apprentice place amongst their top team

The SGSA have made the exciting offer for an applicant to learn and collaborate alongside their experienced board members over the period of a year as part of the 'Boardroom Apprentice' programme.

A unique 'Boardroom Apprentice' learning opportunity

The boardroom apprentice is a 12 month placement programme that can be completed whilst in employment (with the employers full support). It consists of 8 mandatory in-person training days, followed by the typical commitments that will be expected of the board from the host organisation. The boardroom apprentice is open to all ages, all abilities and all backgrounds with the view of increasing diversity within these spaces. If contributing your expertise at board level is something you aspire to, this is an unrivalled opportunity for real world learning.

"The SGSA as a whole, not just its Board, are committed to supporting the government’s work to ensure public bodies reflect all of society" (SGSA)

"Our current board members provide a wealth of experience that they are happy to share." the SGSA continues. "Some are new and have no public sector board experience but come from senior positions in the private sector". Positions held by board members include CEO’s of local authorities, a former Chief Constable, a former head of the Government’s Statistical Service, a stadium and sports event architect, a former professional footballer, an operations director for motor racing and a venue operator.

An exciting opportunity for safety professionals

With respect and authority across the sports safety industry, the opportunity to join the board room at SGSA is one that will be highly sought after. For individuals already working in a similar or related field, this valuable access and insight would provide an exciting platform for further personal and career development.
