Level 3 Extended Certificate in
Spectator Safety Supervision (RQF)
The objective of this extended certificate is to provide learners with additional knowledge, skills & understanding of being a Stewarding Supervisor. Learners will be able to demonstrate competence in Spectator Safety Supervision.
Mandatory Units:
Learners must achieve all units in this group.
Prepare Stewards and venues for spectator events
Manage and maintain stewarding in designated areas
Manage information for action and decision-making for spectator events
Develop and sustain productive working relationships with stakeholders
Monitor and solve customer services problems
Managing initial responses to significant or major incidents and planning for resilience
Managing risks in crowded places
Planning for the safety of people at a spectator event
Managing the safety and security of people at spectator events
Optional Units:
Learners must achieve 2 units in this group.
Help to manage and resolve conflicts (level 2 unit)*
Deal with incidents at spectator events (level 2 unit)*
Manage resources for safety and security at spectator events (level 4 unit)
Develop and sustain productive working relationships with stakeholders (level 4 unit)
Develop your knowledge, skills and competence (level 3 unit)
* It's strongly recommended that these units are only selected by learners who have not previously completed a level 2 certificate in spectator safety.
Additional unit:
This qualification also includes the additional unit Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry, Whilst the qualification can be fully achieved without this optional unit, it is a useful inclusion for those who, because of their job role, need to undertake physical intervention when necessary.
Key Information
What's the Duration?
The total qualification time for this qualification is 720 hours, of this 317 are recommended as guided learning hours. We recommend allowing up to 6 months to complete a minimum group of 5 learners, although durations can vary.
What's the Delivery Method?
Our team will work with you to agree the most suitable delivery schedule. This may involve face-to-face training, online learning, or a blend of the two.
How is the qualification Assessed?
In order to achieve the Level 3 Certificate in Spectator Safety Supervision, learners are assessed using an externally set, internally assessed matrix. This includes a mandatory, open-response workbook per unit to be completed and marked, as well as at least one practical, on the job observation.
Do I need any Previous Experience?
Learners starting the Level 3 programme do not need previous experience, although experience of working in a Stewarding Supervisor role and at the venue where on the job observations will take place is recommended.
Learners will need to complete the ACT! Awareness E-Learning Certificate to complete the Level 3 Spectator Safety Certificate.
Through the programme, learners will be given training in First Aid. Prior training in First Aid or Basic Life Support should be encouraged.
