Level 2 Award for
SIA Door Supervisors
The objective of this qualification is to provider learners with the knowledge, skills & understanding of being an SIA Licenced Door Supervisor. Learners will be provided with the skills and knowledge needed to operate legally as a Door Supervisor.

The importance of safe working practices
Drug misuse legislation
Issues and procedures relevant to the role of a Door Supervisor
Licensing law
Queue management
How to assess and reduce risk in conflict situations

Physical interventions and the implications of their use
The use of non-aggressive physical skills to protect yourself and others
Key Information
What's the Duration?
The total qualification time for this qualification is 61 hours (6 full days training), of this 44 are recommended as minimum contact time (tuition). Prior knowledge or qualifications in first aid may reduce the duration.
What's the Delivery Method?
Training is delivered in person, with candidates expected to attend each of the planned sessions. Candidates must then attend an examination day to complete their qualification.
How is the qualification Assessed?
Candidates will be required to sit examinations in order to complete this qualification. In order to pass, the Candidate must achieve the following:

Unit 1: Principles of working in the private security industry

110 Minutes to complete. 70% Pass mark

Unit 2: Principles of working as a Door Supervisor in the private security industry

75 Minutes to complete. 70% Pass mark

Unit 3: Application of conflict management skills in the private security industry

30 Minutes to complete. 70% Pass mark

Unit 4: Application of physical intervention skills in the private security industry

45 Minutes to complete. 80% Pass mark

Do I need any Previous Experience?
Learners starting the Level 2 programme do not need previous experience, although experience of working in a safety role is recommended.
Learners will need to complete the ACT! Awareness E-Learning Certificate to complete the Level 2 Door Supervisors Award.
Learners will be aged 18 or over and be able to provide sufficient ID.
Learners should, as a minimum, have language skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening equivalent to a level 1 qualification prior to commencing the programme.
Learners will need to show that they hold a current and valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. We recommend the Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work qualification, which can be achieved in addition to the Level 2 Door Supervisors Award with Mitre.
