Level 4 Diploma in Spectator Safety Management (RQF)
The objective of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge, skills & understanding of being a Safety Officer. Learners will be able to demonstrate competence in Spectator Safety Management.
The Level 4 Diploma in Spectator Safety Management is made up of 8 Mandatory Units and 3 Optional Units.
Mandatory Units:
Learners must achieve all units in this group.
Plan for the safety of people at spectator events
Manage the safety and security of people at spectator events
Develop, implement and review policies and procedures for safety and security at spectator events
Manage information for action and decision-making for spectator events
Manage resources for safety and security at events
Manage risks in crowded places
Manage initial response to significant or major incidents and plan for resilience
Work with others to improve customer services
Optional Units:
Learners must achieve 3 units in this group.
Monitor and solve customer service problems (level 3 unit*)
Recruit, select and retain people (level 5 unit)
Support individuals' learning and development (level 4 unit)
Identify and evaluate opportunities for innovation and improvement (level 4 unit)
Allocate and monitor the progress and quality of your work in your area of responsibility (level 4 unit)
Develop your knowledge, skills and competence (level 3 unit)*
Manage projects (level 4 unit)
Develop and sustain productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders (level 3 unit)*
* It's strongly recommended that these units are only selected by learners who have not previously completed a level 3 certificate in spectator safety supervision.
Key Information
What's the Duration?
The total qualification time for this qualification is 910 hours, of this 391 are recommended as guided learning hours. We recommend allowing up to 12 months to complete the programme, although durations can vary.
What's the Delivery Method?
Our team will work with you to agree the most suitable delivery schedule. This may involve face-to-face training, online learning, or a blend of the two!
How is the qualification Assessed?
In order to achieve the Level 4 Diploma in Spectator Safety Management, learners are assessed using an externally set, internally assessed matrix. This includes a mandatory, open-response workbook or professional discussion per unit to be completed, as well as two practical, on the job observations whilst working as a Safety Officer. Mitre Group may be able to support with work placements.
Do I need any Previous Experience?
Learners starting the Level 4 programme should have previous experience of spectator safety before starting this qualification. This may be in a role associated to spectator safety and not necessarily the management of Stewards or staff. Our team will carry out an initial assessment prior to the commencement of the programme to ensure that it is the right qualification for you.
