Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)

The objective of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge, skills & understanding to become First Aiders in the Workplace.  The qualification covers knowledge such as the roles and responsibilities of the first aider and how to assess an incident. The qualification also covers first aid skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), providing first aid to a casualty who is choking and dealing with external bleeding and hypovolaemic shock, also how to provide first aid for minor injuries.

The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work is made up of  7 Learning Outcomes. 

Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider

Be able to assess an emergency situation safely

Key Information

What's the Duration?

This qualification is completed within 1, 7 hour day. Candidates will be advised of their completion after completing their training.

What's the Delivery Method?

As a practical award, this qualification is exclusively delivered face to face and in groups of no larger than 12 candidates per instructor. Venues for training must have adequate space for training and practical assessments to take place for the number of candidates on the programme.

How is the qualification Assessed?

In order to achieve the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, learners are assessed throughout the day with on-going, practical assessments to demonstrate first aid skills. In addition, learners are required to pass a 15-question multiple-choice theory paper, completed at the end of the course. Learners must achieve at least 70% to pass. 

Do I need any Previous Experience?

Learners starting the Level 3 programme do not need previous experience prior to starting the course.
